Global Head of Corporate Affairs, Mainstream Renewable Power

Adam BruceAdam leads Mainstream’s global corporate affairs practice, providing communications, policy and regulatory advice to colleagues.

Mainstream was founded in 2008 to develop wind, solar and tidal assets in a number of world markets. It operates in Canada and the USA, with offices in Toronto and Chicago.

Adam joined Mainstream Renewable Power in November 2008 following the acquisition of Airtricity where he had been UK Chief Executive. In that role he was responsible for the teams developing Europe’s largest onshore and offshore wind farms. In October 2007, Airtricity sold its North American business unit to E.on for approximately €0.8bn. The remainder of the company was sold to Scottish and Southern Energy in January 2008 for €1.1bn. The total value created for share holders was €1.35bn on capital invested of €0.44bn.

Adam was elected Chairman of the BWEA, the UK’s leading renewable energy trade association, in June 2007. He is a former Director of Public Policy at UK law firm McGrigors and currently a director of the Westminster Forum, a Trustee of the St Andrews Fund for Scots Heraldry, HM Unicorn Pursuivant of Arms, and a Fellow of the RSA.

He and his family live in Edinburgh.
