US-UK Transatlantic SME Dialogue begins in Edinburgh

The sixth US-UK SME Dialogue began officially in Edinburgh on Tuesday 29th November.
It was great for Executive Director Allan Hogarth to meet up with Rosemary Gallant, Regional Senior Commercial Officer for United Kingdom, Nordics and Ireland from the US Embassy London and Emma Wade-Smith OBE, HM Trade Commissioner for North America and HM Consul General New York from the Department of International Trade who outlined the role of SME's on developing successful transatlantic trade and how her and her colleagues can help SME's on that journey.

At the seminar we heard from a wide range of entrepreneur's including Anna White of Scotland Shop telling us her story on exporting and setting up a presence in North America and Anne Lanc from Ionburst on the future of digital trade. Allan Hogarth was asked to share his views on barriers to trade into the USA for SME’s and drew upon his experience of recently assisting Scottish SME’s on transatlantic trade missions.
