Kathryn Porter
Kathryn Porter assumed charge as U.S. Consul General in Edinburgh in August 2024.
Prior to her current post, she served as a Senior Operations Management Officer in Washinton DC, overseeing management, innovation, and outreach at the State Department Operations Center, the Secretary of State’s 24-hour crisis management and communications center.
She previously served as a Consul at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. Other overseas tours include a variety of Consular positions at the U.S. Consulates in Krakow, Toronto, Johannesburg, and Tijuana. Early in her career she served in Washington as a Watch Officer in the State Department Operations Center.
A native of Alabama, Kathryn received a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Montevallo. She will be joined in Edinburgh by her spouse, Joshua Frazier.
