SNABC participate in 25th Annual Tartan Week in New York
The SNABC were delighted to deliver a business led seminar last week as part of the 25th Anniversary Celebrations of Tartan Week kindly hosted by the UK Consulate in New York and supported by DBT and Procemx. We discussed in a lively participative panel session issues surrounding climate mitigation and adaptation, renewable energy, and city operations, looking at best practice and opportunities in both Scotland and New York.
We were pleased to have UK Government Minister for Scotland John Lamont providing opening remarks and our expert panel from both sides of the Atlantic considering these issues included Reuben Aitken, Managing Director, International Operations, Scottish Enterprise, Allisyn Glasser Director of Digital Products and Demonstration Projects at Consolidated Edison Co of New York, Stephen Leonard Global Strategic Alliances Leader, Kyndryl and Global Scot and Scottish Government Trade and Investment Envoy, Thomas "Tom" Lewis, PE, JD Founder, LE4 Advisors; Board Director, Resilience Rising; and Former National Business Lead for Climate, Resilience and Sustainability, WSP USA.
The panel discussion was moderated by Lolita Jackson MBE FRSA , Global Scot , Executive Director of Communications & Sustainable Cities, Sustainable Development Capital LLP and Shona McCarthy, CEO of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society provided an overview of how the Fringe Society has tried to improve its sustainable practices in action.
